Take a breath. Zoom out | Week 17

Apr 07, 2022

Ever feel overwhelmed by your “to do list?” Like, you’re at the end of your day and got nothing done.

Then you feel like crap because you know you’re better than that. You know you should’ve accomplished more.

Bill Gates said, “We tend to overestimate what we can do in a day and underestimate what we can do in a year.”

It’s true. Happens to me all the time.

Half the time when I ask my friend tyler for advice, he says, “Kyle, zoom out.”

And while that never makes me feel better in the moment , **laughs,** he’s right.

Because when I zoom out on this pickleball journey. I usually realize I’m farther along than I thought I’d be.

And the truth is, that’s pretty cool. It’s cool to remember that I've won 7 medals. It’s cool to remember that, last week, I got to play with a couple of the best players in the world. (see below)

It’s cool to remember that I had a 12 month goal to become a sponsored player, and my prediction is, it’ll actually happen in the next 30-60 days. (more on that in a future edition)

The thing is…

…rarely, is it the decision we make today that changes everything. More often, it’s the decisions we make today, then tomorrow, then next week, that leads to the big change down the road.

I’ll leave you with this.

Whatever you’ve been working to accomplish. Zoom out. You probably haven’t gotten as much done today as you wanted, but overall, you’re probably farther along than you thought you’d be.

I know I am.

Until next time,

Kyle

PS: While this was a slower week in the pickleball world, there’s some cool things in the works I’ll be sharing with you all soon! Thanks for continuing to follow my journey from never playing to pro in 12 months!
