How to Beat an Opponent Who's Stacking

Mar 21, 2024

Hey!

Before we keep going, welcome back to another edition of the blog. If you’re new to the blog and want to go back and check out past editions, go here!

Today’s edition has two parts:

1. Details of The Game – Exploit Stacking.

2. Update on My Journey Playing Pro – An Exciting Collab with a Top Pro Player!

Details of The Game (Video):

One concept most tournament players use is "stacking."

If you’ve never heard of it and want to fully understand, I made an in depth youtube video on this strategy.

Now, if you consistently compete against players who stack against you, there's one specific strategy you can use to throw them off!

Enjoy!👇

Update on My Journey Playing Pro:

The truth is, I’m ready for this section to NOT be about my wrist issue, but I'm not out of that territory just yet.

The good news, is I'm getting there. It’s continued to improve in the last week. In fact, I was out in Santa Barbara, California for the past 3 days seeing, who my friend Dayne Gingrich calls, “The woman who fixes all my aches and pains.”

So, I saw her a few times and he wasn’t wrong. She's fantastic and I’ve made good progress in the last 3 days.

In addition, I filmed content with Dayne Gingrich— whos currently ranked the #1 senior pro. His insights are invaluable and I'm excited to share the videos we filmed in the coming weeks.

Finally, Dayne and I did some on court training and it was a blast. It's great because he’s one of those people that, like me, completely nerds out about the game.

Interestingly enough, most of our training wasn’t repetitively hitting balls. We spent a few hours on court together, and used that time to talk through common scenarios, not often talked about — and how I'll use those in my game. THEN we isolated those situations through targeted drilling.

Which is what I recommend whenever you're around a smart coach. Ask and understand how they think about the game first and how they handle specific situations, rather than just trying to figure out how to hit a better 3rd shot drop.

In closing, I’m hopeful to be back in full swing soon, mention my wrist less, and talk about my court learnings — with my right hand :)

Until next week,

Kyle
