For the Pickleball Nerds:

Choking games away is often the result of "game point behavior."

In this (51 second) video, I share how to close out games so you stop losing the matches you should’ve won.

My Journey Playing Pro Pickleball:

To be honest, it was epic.

The Scottsdale Scorchers (our enemy) tied things up in the 2nd set tiebreak to send this match to a singles tiebreak 😳.

And if you’ve ever watched any of my youtube videos, most are about doubles. And there’s a reason. I don’t love singles :)

The way the tiebreak works is, after the lineups are selected, each player on the team steps out to play 4 singles points before the next player on the team steps out to play another 4 points. It’s rally scoring, first to 15, win by one.

In the huddle, we decided to shake things up. The scorchers sent out Caden Nemoff. And the Tornadoes (us) responded with Glouka Carvajal Lane.

Glouka, who stepped in for our teammate Jen Tavernier, rips the snot out of the ball. So I knew putting her out first might throw Caden off, because my guess was, he expected to play against me.

And that’s exactly what happened.

Glouka went out first and started 3-1 to give us an early lead.

Then I stepped out to go up against Pesa Teoni.

And then, in front of a sold out crowd, I hit my actual favorite shot in pickleball, (and no, it wasn’t the erne) :)

Talk next week,

Kyle
